Winners of the 2023 Tunnell Trust Prize and the Wolfe Wolfinsohn String Quartet Competition, the Asaka Quartet is becoming well known for their innovative and enthralling interpretations. Formed in 2021 at the Royal Academy of Music, they currently serve as the Open Academy/Wigmore Hall Fellowship Ensemble and hold the Quartet in Residence position at the University of Oxford’s Wolfson College. The Asaka Quartet brings together musicians from mainland China, Hong Kong, and Scotland. Their performances are noted for their vibrant energy and commitment to both the classical canon and underrepresented works.
