The Royal Conservatoire of Scotland (RCS) will hold their annual Piano Summer School from the 23rd – 25th July 2024.
In conjunction with the RCS, we are delighted to present the Sixth Scottish International Youth Piano Competition for younger pianists of great potential from around the world.
All students attending the Piano Summer School aged 12 – 17 will have the opportunity to participate in the competition, which will take place on 26th July 2024. A distinguished jury, chaired by the RCS’s Interim Head of Keyboard Fali Pavri, will select the prize winners.
10am: Junior Division (ages 12 – 14)
A solo recital of at least two contrasting pieces lasting between 10 and 12 minutes, with a free choice of repertoire (minimum standard: ABRSM Grade 7).
First Prize (£500)
Second Prize (£200)
Third Prize (£100)
1pm: Senior Division (ages 15 – 17)
A solo recital of at least two contrasting pieces lasting between 20 and 25 minutes, with a free choice of repertoire (minimum standard: ABRSM Grade 8).
First Prize and the Sam Hutchings Memorial Award (£800)
Second Prize (£400)
Third Prize (£150)
New for 2024: A prestigious prize-winners concert will be held in Westbourne Music’s 2024/25 season.
