Join us for a mesmerising evening of music with the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland’s Symphony Orchestra. Under the direction of conductor Kerem Hasan, you’ll hear some of the most celebrated works from the classical music repertoire. The programme includes the breathtaking beauty of Magnus Lindberg’s Gran Duo, nestled between Shostakovich‘s Festive Overture and his heart-stirring Symphony No. 5.

Shostakovich’s Fifth is one of the great 20th century symphonies, an edge-of-your-seat experience that’s by turns elegiac and thrilling and was written in response to criticism the composer suffered under Stalin’s regime. His Festive Overture, however, is a joyous opener and the two works frame Magnus Lindberg’s brooding and beautiful Gran Duo written in 2000.
