The time of year, the time of day, the intensity of light; the warmth, the cool; the breeze, the wind, the rain; the presence and activity of other people and beings going about their lives… join us in the spacious atmosphere of the lower church and unpack what it means ‘to be here, now’.

Acclaimed new music collective Octandre Ensemble is dedicated to exploring rituals, sounds and the webs of ideas that form around them. At their highly anticipated Scottish debut, the ensemble presents a reflective sequence of music by Christian Mason in our darkened crypt, where colourful glimmers of nature resonate with elements of Glasgow’s founding legend.

Due to the layout of the vaulted crypt, some seats will have a restricted view of the performers. Please note the Lower Church is a multi-level space with uneven flooring—if you require assistance or cannot use stairs, please let us know in advance and we will ensure your access needs are supported.
