We are inviting young UK clarinettists to apply to the Conservatoire Clarinet Competition, sponsored by The Wind Section.

Pupils in full-time school education across the UK, of Grade 5 and above, are eligible to apply.

A panel of RCS specialists will select up to five clarinettists to compete in a live final at the RCS on Sunday 16 February 2025 as part of the Conservatoire Clarinet Festival, sponsored by Buffet Crampon.

Final: Live performance of 8 mins of clarinet & piano, and/or solo clarinet repertoire of your choice.
Applicants may choose to perform complete works, and/or selected movement/s from any works.
A professional accompanist will be available to rehearse (on the day) & perform with all finalists. Please note that the RCS is unable to cover any travel costs for finalists.

Prize: The Wind Section has generously offered the winner £1000 towards a Buffet instrument purchase*. All finalists will be given a 1:1 clarinet lesson with an RCS specialist (at a future date to be agreed) and tickets to attend an RCS concert of their choice.
