James McAvoy Drama Scholarship
Page Navigation
We believe strongly that no one should face barriers to participation in the arts. We offer bursaries and scholarships to students who, for financial reasons, wouldn’t be able to take part in courses at RCS.
James McAvoy, a graduate of the Royal Conservatoire, shares this belief in arts for all and in 2015 donated to allow us to create the James McAvoy Drama Scholarships. These scholarships are for anyone aged 25 and under, who is a Scottish resident, and who wants to take part in a course through the Short Courses department. This scholarship programme aims to support applicants who would otherwise find meeting the cost of tuition fees at RCS a barrier to accessing pre-higher Education drama training at the Royal Conservatoire.
In the first year of this scholarship programme, 29 Scottish young people benefitted from funding fee help and completed a short course or summer school at RCS.
Ways to Support
As well as one-off and monthly donations, there are plenty of ways you can support the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland.
Any and all support is greatly appreciated by us, our students, and our staff and helps ensure the longevity of the Conservatoire for generations to come.
