Short Courses exists to widen access and participation in the wonderful rehearsal and performance facilities, with the amazing teachers and excellent learning programmes at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland (RCS).

We offer an exciting selection of weekly and weekend courses for children, young people and adults across music, dance, drama, production and film. There are classes for complete beginners or those looking to enhance and develop their existing skills.
We also offer a selection of audition and interview preparation courses for those hoping to progress to higher education training, as well as credit-rated courses which are designed in accordance with the Scottish Credit and Qualifications Framework (SCQF).
As a student at Scotland’s national conservatoire, you will be joining a truly vibrant and multi-cultural environment. You will be studying in a friendly and supportive atmosphere where students are encouraged to realise their aspirations, develop their skills and explore their potential.
- Children and Young People
Year-long, weekly classes running each Saturday from September to June - Adult
Year-long, weekly classes from September to June, or 10 week classes running in Term 1, 2, or 3 - Summer Schools
Classes for Children and Young People, or Adults, taking place between July and August - Short Study and Audition Preparation
Intensive classes taking place over a weekend

Vouchers
Celebrate a birthday, show someone you believe in their passion, give your loved ones a fresh start in the New Year, or simply make someone smile with a Short Courses gift voucher.
Our vouchers are valid for one year from the date of purchase and can be used to book on to any short course throughout the year, including yearly, ten-week, short study and summer schools.

The best way to contact Short Courses is through our email: shortcourses@rcs.ac.uk. Our inboxes are monitored six days a week, and we reply to queries in a timely manner. This is the best and most direct way for us to answer any questions or concerns you may have as we can direct your email to the most appropriate member of staff.
You can also reach us by phone on: 0141 270 8342. Please note that with many of our staff working part time hours, we won’t always be able to take your call. We understand that some students may wish to talk to a member of staff over the phone or in the office. Please email us using the address above with a description of how we can help, and we’ll be able to organise a call or meeting with the most appropriate member of staff.
