And we also have some exciting new undergraduate and postgraduate programmes for 2025 entry, including:  

Undergraduate 

BA Arts with Community

For artists who want to explore performing and/or production arts in community contexts. Whether you are a performer, writer, musician, dancer, storyteller, production artist or filmmaker, this programme will encourage you to develop your own artform, facilitation practice and voice as a socially engaged practitioner. 

Postgraduate 

MA/MFA Production

For those looking to further enhance their skills as lighting, sound or set and costume designer, or as stage or production managers. Design students will focus on an area of specialist study, while management students will deepen their practical expertise.

You’ll work in a collaborative, creative environment developing existing skills and knowledge through personal research and production placements, ultimately working as an ensemble company alongside RCS’s MA/MFA Classical and Contemporary Text Acting/Directing students. 

Artist Diploma in Opera

Develop your skills as a performer and professional through a new partnership between RCS and Scottish Opera to nurture the next generation of international opera talent.

A highly specialised combination of vocal, movement and acting training, culminating in roles in Glasgow and Edinburgh with The Scottish Opera Orchestra as part of the company’s core season. 

Students will work with specialist RCS staff and international guest designers, vocal coaches, directors and conductors and will be immersed in weekly coaching, mentoring, residencies and performance opportunities.  

These programmes are subject to validation. More new programmes still to be announced.

2 October 2024, 18:00 (UK time) – for music courses. 

29 January 2025, 18:00 (UK time) – for most undergraduate dance, drama or musical theatre courses.
