Company Rehearsal: Chekhov
Short Courses – 10 Week
Page Navigation
Overview
Our Company Rehearsal course focuses on the study and presentation of a classic naturalistic play as a rehearsed performance, facilitated by an experienced Director and Acting Lecturer. It provides an opportunity for people age 16+ with some previous experience to work towards a sharing in a workshop setting.
Throughout the 10 week course students will explore and workshop The Seagull by Anton Chekhov – a beautifully human story about unrequited love, artistic yearning and the humour and pathos of everyday life, providing the opportunity for participants to develop their rehearsal and performance experience. Students will work collaboratively on all elements central to the creation of a staged reading, with consideration of the specific context of the work.
There are no entry requirements for this open access course but to get the most out of it you should have some experience of performance and a practical understanding of theatre and performance skills.
Regular attendance on this course is particularly important as you will be working towards an ensemble performance.
