MMus Opera Class of 2025
About
Qi Liu is studying on the MMus Opera programme at Royal Conservatoire of Scotland under the tutelage of Jane Irwin and Elizabeth McCormack. She is a grateful recipient of a scholarship from the RCS Trust.
Qi graduated from Zhejiang Conservatory of Music in 2023. In the past few years, Qi Liu secured several performance opportunities that significantly enriched her stage performance experience.
Roles and Opera include: Helena in A Midsummer Night’s Dream, Emmie in Albert Herring, Sister Constance in Dialogue des Carmelites, Marzelline in Fidelio, Dew Fairy in Hänsel und Gretel, Adina in L’elisir d’amore, Despina in Così fan tutte, Si Feng Thunderstorm (ZJCM, China), Die Zauberflöte and Die Fledermaus (ZJCM, China).
Qi participated in masterclasses with Professor Sue McCulloch, Susan Bullock, Sun Yu, Wei Long Tao, and Hu Yan. She also participated in a music program that was based on the classical novel Dream of the Red Chamber, held at Jaguar Shanghai Symphony Hall in 2021.
At RCS, Qi will take roles in the operas L’infedeltà delusa and Die Zauberflöte.
