Phoebe Watson

BA Modern Ballet Class of 2024

Born in Vancouver Canada, Phoebe grew up in the Caribbean, the USA and New Zealand – where she spent most of her childhood and calls home. Phoebe began tap classes at age 4 and soon launched into many other dance styles such as jazz, hip hop, ballet, contemporary and modern. At 16, Phoebe was accepted into the Tanya Pearson Academy in Sydney Australia where she commenced full-time training. In September 2022, Phoebe moved to Scotland after graduating from the pre-professional course in Sydney.

In Glasgow, Phoebe joined the 2nd year at The Royal Conservatoire of Scotland to attain a Bachelor of Arts in Modern Ballet. Although her two years at RCS have flown by, she has enjoyed many amazing performances and learning opportunities and has made life-long friends with her fellow dancers. She has gained so much from the course and the wonderful, nurturing teachers and feels her dancing has been greatly impacted by the training. During her time at RCS, some of her highlights have included touring the UK with Scottish Ballet in their winter season of ‘Cinders,’ where she performed 61 shows in five different cities and working with the renowned choreographer David Dawson in rehearsals for Scottish Ballet’s spring season of ‘Swan Lake.’

Phoebe is thrilled to have accepted a position in the Junior Ballet Antwerp for the 2024/25 season and is excited to see where this next chapter takes her.
