
Paddy Callaghan
Paddy is a lecturer on the Traditional Music course.
He is a native to Glasgow is one of the most recognised accordionists in Scotland.
Paddy is a former BBC Radio Scotland Young Traditional Musician of the year (2013) and winner of multiple All-Ireland titles in music.
Paddy is also a science Graduate of the University of Glasgow and holds a TTCT teaching diploma
Alongside his work within the RCS and touring as a musician, Paddy is Operations Manager for traditional music charity Comhaltas in Britain and has a distinguished career in broadcasting.
Paddy’s main work within the RCS involves 1:1 principal study lessons with students on accordion and concertina. He also takes a weekly accordion performance class, and assists with the departmental performance classes. Paddy also moderates a number of student assessments throughout the year.
