Miyu Takasugi
Born in Japan, Miyu received her training at Prendre Ballet Studio before participating in the BA in Modern Ballet. She took pleasure in her three years of training at the Royal Conservatoire, and she is thrilled to start the next phase of her dancing career in the autumn.
Miyu has enjoyed collaborating with accomplished choreographers including Daniel Davidson, Madeline Squire and Constant Vigier while at the RCS. The experiences she has had performing over the past three years, including the Modern Ballet Graduation Shows and collaborative performances with various departments across RCS have also been extremely enjoyable for her. She valued exploring the emotions within the relationships with the music and choreographies as a dancer. Alongside her training, Miyu helped out at Scottish Ballet Associates, where she assisted in teaching the upcoming generation of dancers. She was interested in passing on her passion for ballet and teaching and she felt honoured to work with experienced teachers and talented young dancers at Scottish Ballet Associates. Finally, Miyu would like to thank all of her friends and family for their tremendous support in allowing her to study in her dream country, as well as all of the staff members who assisted her and contributed to making the experience wonderful and unforgettable.
