Layla May Bruce
Layla Bruce was born in Somerset, England and trained at Elmhurst Ballet School and London Vocational Dance School prior to joining the BA Modern Ballet program with The Royal Conservatoire of Scotland. After Graduation, Layla will be moving to London in September to join the Acosta Advanced Training Hub where she will continue her studies in both Classical and Contemporary dance.
Within her three years at RCS, Layla has worked with many choreographers such as Constant Vigier, Maddy Squire and Daniel Davidson. She has also engaged in many performance opportunities including, performances at The Gleneagles Hotel, Modern Ballet Graduation shows, Scottish Ballet, and collaborations with the classical music and vocal performance department. Alongside her modern ballet studies, Layla has also taken an interest in other departments of the conservatoire. She has collaborated with the film and composition department and created her own work. Layla has also taken courses in arts leadership and fundraising, and creative writing for screen and will be taking both of these experiences into her future career.
Layla would like to say a huge thank you to all the staff of RCS, especially the Modern Ballet program for all their knowledge and support across these three years.
