Israela auditioned for RCS straight from school but found she needed more experience first. She took a bold, brave and proactive decision to study NC and HNC Acting and Performance at Glasgow Clyde College. College provided Israela with an excellent bridge into RCS, enabling her to build confidence, flourish and fly. She says: ‘If you feel different, use it to your advantage. I was born and raised in Scotland but I’m also Congolese, so I went to my RCS audition thinking ‘they need a Scongolese actress…’ and it turned out they did.
