Widely respected as an accompanist and chamber musician, pianist Ingrid Sawers has performed throughout the UK, Europe and Canada. Ingrid also has a long-standing commitment to new music, and has released 2 critically acclaimed CDs on Delphian Records. As well as teaching at RCS, Ingrid is one of a hand-picked group of staff pianists and tutors for the Oxenfoord International Summer School directed by Malcolm Martineau.

Widely respected as an accompanist and chamber musician, pianist Ingrid Sawers has performed throughout the UK, Europe and Canada. She is equally at home performing vocal repertoire at the Oxford Lieder Festival or instrumental music at the World Saxophone Congress in Strasbourg. Her main teachers in the collaborative repertoire were Paul Hamburger, Roger Vignoles and Malcolm Martineau. She has performed live on BBC Radio 3, BBC Radio Scotland, BBC Arts Channel as part of the Edinburgh International Festival, as well as touring with Classic FM presenter John Suchet in his talks on Beethoven.

Ingrid also has a long-standing commitment to new music, has given premieres of works by many composers including Judith Bingham, Thomas Adès, Gabriel Jackson, and Graham Fitkin, and has released 2 critically acclaimed CDs on Delphian Records. Over the years she has collaborated with instrumentalists from all the major Scottish orchestras and with a multitude of singers including Janis Kelly, Lorna Anderson, Nicky Spence, and Iestyn Davies. Ingrid is one of a hand-picked group of staff pianists and tutors for the Oxenfoord International Summer School directed by Malcolm Martineau.
