Iana Phillips
Iana was born and raised in Falkirk where she attended the Central Scotland Ballet School a local dance school where her passion for ballet evolved. Alongside this she was able to enhance her training in the Scottish ballet associate program as a junior, mid and senior associate where she was able to have the chance to perform alongside the company members in the UK tour of the Nutcracker, she also trained at RCS weekly as a junior associate. During this, she was successful in getting into the Dance School of Scotland and went on to continue her training at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland on the 3-year BA modern ballet degree course and is now due to graduate in early July.
She has thoroughly enjoyed her 3 years of training and looks forward to continuing her dance journey after RCS.
During her time at RCS, Iana has had the opportunity to work with multiple professional choreographers throughout her time here, she has enjoyed performing in the annual RCS graduation performances, and the piano and dance performances and has had the opportunity to perform at Gleneagles Hotel. She has also had the pleasure of being selected as a finalist at the grad pro competition in May where she will gain a great performance experience and would like to thank the modern ballet teachers for their help and encouragement during the process which would not be possible. Iana would like to thank all of the staff for their support across the three years and for making the transition through RCS a nurturing and comforting place to be, they have made her time at RCS truly memorable and enjoyable.
